Game Process

The first problem I had encountered was to choose a software that had no limits in creating my game. Thus I chose to use Game Maker Studio 2 as Construct 3 had a limit in events created.

Research and Inspiration

I was inspired to create an 80s retro game. This was inspired from my research in the history of video games. Whilst researching themes I came across retro vaporwave which inspired my colour theme. The colours purple, blue and pink where the main colours in my game.

Game Concept

Title/Story

The title of the game is Blue's Adventure that was inspired by the character, Blue. As a story Blue is trying to kill as many Jellyfish as he can to survive through the raids.

Functions

The game duplicates the jellyfish everytime the player kills them, making it more difficult to survive through the bullets shot by the jellyfish.

The player is given the option to shoot the jellyfish as well as dodging the bullets.

Target Audience

The target audience universal.

Characters

There are only two characters in the games; Blue and the Jellyfish.

Unique Selling Point

The unique selling points of my game are;

  • My Poster as it attracts.

  • The colours in the game are very attractive.

  • The game itself makes players want to play again to get a higher score.

  • Target Audience is Universal.

  • The music is very catchy.
